My name is Derekah Jayne, though most know me as Dee. Originally from Virginia, I’ve spent the past 12 years embracing the charm of Southeastern Connecticut.
 

I grew up immersed in both farm life and the hospitality industry, where my love for bringing people together first took root. A hopeless romantic at heart, I have always been drawn to curating unforgettable moments—whether through intimate dinner parties or grand celebrations. That passion has remained steadfast through life’s many twists and turns.
 

Upon moving to Connecticut, I found my place at a local vineyard, where I honed my event planning and management skills. With each wedding I helped create, I found my greatest reward in the joy and gratitude of the couples I worked with. Witnessing their perfect day come to life solidified my calling in this industry.
 

After eight wonderful years at the vineyard, I embarked on my next chapter, dedicating time to my music while refining my fine dining expertise at award-winning restaurants. Throughout this journey, I continued to coordinate events for cherished friends and former clients, ultimately leading me back to my true passion — creating extraordinary celebrations.
 

Through years of experience and a deep love for my craft, I knew it was time to build something of my own. And so, Daydream Events was born — a place where dreams take shape and love is celebrated with intention, elegance, and heart. I believe the most beautiful events stem from genuine care, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering dedication to each couple’s unique vision. It is my greatest joy to walk alongside brides as they bring their dreams to life, ensuring their journey is as magical as the day itself.
